One of the best ways to save money on tuition is to attend a community college. Several classes of first year and second year courses are required that can be applied to any year degree 4. Taking the basics such as computing, communications and a poor choice in a local community college may reduce your tuition by 75 percent.
Calculation of fees
College courses have credit hours assigned to them. Most courses colleges are three to four hours of credit. Tuition fees are charged to the credit hour. To calculate the cost for one course, multiply the number of credit hours by the rate of tuition. For example three credit hours would cost $ 300.00 if registration was $ 100.00 per credit hour. According to various institutions, full-time enrollment at a college requires 12 to 16 credit hours per semester.

State College Tuition
Tuition of State College is cheaper than a private college. It is more expensive than a community college. Most state schools accept transfer students from local community colleges with few exceptions. To compare rates of school 2010-2011, using the University of Arkansas (U of A) as an example, the rate of tuition for the University of Arkansas is as follows:
In-State Tuition: $ 173.68 per credit hour.
Out-of-state tuition: $ 481.43 per credit hour.
A student taking 13 hours of credit at a campus of the University of Arkansas will pay $ 2,257.84 to $ 6,258.59 per semester. This does not include expenses, meals, housing or books.
The Case for Community College
Community colleges offer undergraduate courses as well as most major universities in 4 years. The difference is the cost per credit hour. The teachers are equally qualified to teach the subject as in a four-year college. Students can take a community college to a local public college to complete their 4 year degree, usually without loss of credit.
Parents must pay tuition bills is that their money goes further at a community college. Not all students qualify for Pell grants or financial aid. To participate in a work-study program, a student must be eligible for financial assistance. While some students receive scholarships, others not. After exhausting all grants, aid and scholarship options, a tuition bill of large companies may still exist.
Unless the student knows they want to pursue a career high in law, medicine or academia, where they get their diploma is not important (provided it is good school faith and not a diploma mill).
