As changes in second half in a quick start, many juniors have felt the difficult transition from pre-advanced courses to advanced placement courses. Not aware of what awaited them, many juniors soon experienced a challenge to maintain stable GPA, and be involved with a full range of extracurricular activities.
“I am co-captain of the swim team and currently enrolled in two courses in advanced placement level,” said junior Laura Lopez. Although Lopez is currently enrolled in two Advanced Placement courses, she has learned to adapt to the vast amount of work that Advanced Placement courses in production, all while maintaining its place in the top twenty-five of his class. “The moment I enter in English Ms. Chastain AP three kinds of instruction, I hope nothing but work bell to bell,” said Lopez.
Although some students, who are experiencing the transition, have learned to adapt, others have learned the hard way that is relevant to keep the two advanced courses and extracurricular activities in a health program.
“Advanced placement classes became stressful at one point, because I had no idea what I was getting into, and I had too much on my plate,” said Junior Bianca Henderson. Being actively involved in tennis and advanced courses, Henderson learned to become more organized student. “If I did not organize and learn from my mistakes, I knew that things get difficult,” said Henderson.
Advanced placement classes can get rough and tough, and designed for those students identified willful, however, offer no benefits and advantages. “I’m enrolled in advanced placement classes, not only to prepare for college work, but also to the learning environment,” said Lopez. Besides offering the opportunity to receive college credit while still in high school, advanced classes provide a positive learning environment in which most students enrolled in advanced courses have the same goals, to succeed in high school .
Apart from the double amount of work in which an Advanced Placement course that offers a regular course, students advanced placement also notice another difference between the two. “In advanced placement classes the focus is on students who really want to learn, and immaturity is left out, and more work is done,” Lopez said.
In general, advanced placement classes are beneficial for those willing to commit to the job ad lesson plan in which a rigorous course of advanced features. “By demonstrating that not afraid to try something new that benefits my accomplishments in the rest of my school year is the real benefit of being enrolled in advanced placement classes,” Henderson said. After all, many of the advanced placement courses are actually college courses, so an attitude of high school Advanced Placement courses must be left outside the door.
